I think your insights are powerful and wise. Your life will undoubtedly continue to be wonder-full.

Comment on Minneapolis Vacation Diary

That was a delight to read (and learn!) about our great city. We'd never taken the backstage tour at the Aquarium - a lot of that was new info. to me.
BTW -- MN is extremely health conscious and therefore no nuts come near food either at the airport or on planes (I bet you did not get offered peanuts on your flight out of MSP). There are also signs at all clinics/ hospitals to "Bring your own reading material" - all magazines have been removed from clinics, nail salons, etc. to reduce spread of germs. So sorry - no nuts on sundaes at the airport. Don't understand the lack of blueberries / other fruit though...
We wnat you to come back soon!!

Comment on Minneapolis Vacation Diary

Carrie, I sounds like you all had a great vacation! Thanks for sharing. The older I get, the more I appreciate the wisdom in "simply being." I've learned to appreciate my life for what it is and who I am. It's been a difficult lesson.

Comment on The Keys to Enjoying Mulberries

Hi Carrie,
Your piece reminded me of a Mulberry tree we had in our backyard. We had so many berries falling off all season that I considered it a nuisance rather than a blessing. If I'd read your instructions for enjoying mulberries back then, I probably would have had a different perspective! Thanks for the memory!

Comment on The Keys to Enjoying Mulberries

I have tried this. Perhaps we are speaking of different berries (mulberry and blackberry) but this technique did not work for me. It was futile.

And, in the attempt I felt like that cartoon character in the commercial that asks, "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?" One lick, two licks, BITE!! Answer: "Two."

By the time my teeth and tongue messed around with that damn stem, I was already biting down on the juicy center of that berry!

Comment on The Keys to Enjoying Mulberries

Ah, this reminds me of bike rides with Marty in the baby seat on back, stopping along the Charles River on Storrow Drive to eat blackberries (mulberries?) growing wild on that one tree almost hidden on the path. Yum! if you pick the berries with the stem on you can pop them in your mouth and pull the stem off with your teeth. No stains and no eating stems!

Comment on The Keys to Enjoying Mulberries

Wonderful, wonderful. I always feel more centered after reading your mother's entries. And then things slip out of alignment again. It's helpful for me to remember to "simply be", too.

</rdf:RDF>
